Luxury self-catering accommodation and camping in the Brecon Beacons

Pen yr Heol Barn

Pen yr Heol Barn

pentwyn_penyrheol_view.jpgPen yr Heol – meaning 'head of the road' – is a wonderfully-secluded, sympathetically-restored, fabulously well-equipped old shearing barn situated high up in the Brecon Beacons National Park. It is spacious and luxurious five-star self-catering accommodation, sleeping up to 10 people comfortably.

The barn is an ideal base from which to explore the Beacons either on foot, by bike or by horse and an idyllic place to sit back, relax and enjoy the panoramic views. It's available Friday to Friday or for short breaks (Monday to Friday or Friday to Monday).

The modern, well-equipped kitchen/dining room consists of a large dining table and chairs, dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer and copious amounts of cupboard space. The sitting room is light and airy with french windows on two sides, looking either over the farm towards the Black Mountains or up towards the peaks of Pen y Fan and Cribyn. There is a wood burning stove (logs provided) and a 42" plasma television complete with BT Vision. In addition, there is a separate children's TV room which has a sofa and TV/DVD, a well-stocked toy box and plenty of books. Wifi is available.

The landing upstairs is a great place to escape to, with a comfortable chair and plenty of information about the Brecon Beacons and surrounding area – an ideal place to plan what to do and where to go. A drying room provides ample space for hanging wet clothes after walking, cycling or riding.

Pen yr Heol sleeps 10 in four bedrooms. Downstairs there is a double ensuite and a twin/double room – both enjoy magnificent views and access onto the front patio. Upstairs there is a twin/double and a huge bedroom which can comfortable accommodate four people. As well as the ensuite, which has a bath, there are an additional two shower rooms with power showers. There are three toilets downstairs and one upstairs.
